Jennifer Jarvis - Project Director and Chief Conservator:

 

Jennifer Jarvis completed the bookbinding programme at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, USA. In 2007 she earned a Master's in Conservation Studies from West Dean College in West Sussex and served as Project Conservator at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester before taking up her post as Project Director and Chief Conservator for the Derry and Raphoe Diocesan Library Project.

Mary Delargy - Outreach and Learning Officer:

 

Mary Delargy is a native of Derry, she is a qualified librarian, and has worked as a researcher at both the Institute of Ulster-Scots Studies and the Academy for Irish Cultural Heritages at the University of Ulster.
Before joining the University of Ulster, Mary was librarian in charge of the Languages of Ulster collection at the Linen Hall Library in Belfast. A fluent Irish speaker, she has worked for many years as a cross-community language teacher.

 Image of Tony Upton – Conservation Assistant

Tony Upton – Conservation Assistant:

 

Tony Upton trained as an Archives Conservator at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich from 1971. He moved to Nottingham University Manuscripts Department, where he served as Senior Manuscripts Conservator from 1974-2005. The Collection at Nottingham is well known for its D.H. Lawrence Collection, Ecclesiastical Records and local estate papers. Taking early retirement in 2005, Tony moved to Coleraine to be near the North Coast. He came happily out of retirement in 2008 to join the conservation team in Londonderry.

 Image of Jennifer Murray – Conservation Assistant Jennifer Murray – Conservation Assistant:


Jennifer Murray is from Dublin. She graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2008 with a PgDip in Conservation and continues to study for her MA degree. Jennifer was appointed as a Conservation Assistant for the Derry and Raphoe Diocesan Library Project in late 2008.

 Image of Alessandro Scola – Conservation Assistant Alessandro Scola – Conservation Assistant:


Alessandro Scola is from Milan, Italy. After completing his studies in Book Conservation at Centro Di Formazione Professionale in Cremona, he opened his own studio, "Il Bibliosofo Di Alessandro Scola" in Treviglio, working with private book collectors and institutions. He has moved to Londonderry to take up post as a Conservation Assistant for the Derry and Raphoe Diocesan Library Project.
